Ayala Corporation issued the following announcement on June 13.

On 11 June 2019, the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) held a Recognition Ceremony on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard Philippine Results 2018. This year’s ceremony recognized 48 Publicly-Listed Companies (PLCs), eight of which were from the Ayala group: Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land, Inc., Bank of the Philippine Islands, Globe Telecom, Manila Water Corporation, Integrated Microelectronics, Inc., Cebu Holdings, Inc., and Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corporation.

Quoting the event’s program, “The ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard is an instrument for the assessment and ranking of publicly listed companies (PLCs) in six participating ASEAN countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. It is aimed at raising the corporate governance standards and practices among ASEAN PLCs, making well-governed ASEAN PLCs attractive to investors, and promoting ASEAN as an investment asset class.”

The Recognition Ceremony was held at Conrad Manila, Pasay City. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino was the guest of honor and delivered the keynote address.
